Social Learning's Impact on Corporate Performance -
Since the dawn of time, businesses have known the benefits of implementing an online learning program for the purpose of training their workers.
But what about the latest fashions of today? How about the social aspect of learning?
As with when elearning first came about many companies choose to be patient until the concept has been tested to some degree before dedicating resources (monetary and working hours) for its use.
This makes sense. There aren't many companies with the capacity to test the most recent and innovative fashions - and the dangers are too high.
The majority of employees agree the sharing of knowledge among the organization is an essential part of their day-to-day work.
In a survey about formal training, only 37% indicated it was vital.
This is a huge gap that is evidence as to what the employees consider most important in terms of learning in the workplace. As such, it is natural that training programs contain some element of education through social networks.
If social learning is anything similar to the development of e-learning it is likely that we will see an increase in adoption within the next couple of years.
It is more so if major, well-known corporations begin realizing the benefits of social learning programs since it can give other employees the confidence to move forward with it in their own organization.
