Apr 20, 2022

What role can branding play in an integral role in helping creators sell smarter and better? After many years of running successful ventures and consulting dozens of other companies, Melissa Bolton had a intuition: to sell effectively, it's important to comprehend what you're about as well as who your client is. After that, it's a matter of aligning the message with both. Turns out she was right and her vast client base of successful clients prove. She shares what designers should be aware of regarding branding, and also how she helped to improve her training and classes to the next level.

When you were 23, you had an income of 7 figures. By the time you reached 27 you were awarded the position of vice-president of the Fortune 500 financial company. You're now a popular Brand Therapist, an area of expertise that you've registered and created your own. We'd love to hear what your incredible journey started and you've learned from it so far.

I've never considered a customer as a prospective customer, or even thought of them as a potential possibility. They are real people who actually have needs, desires, and wants. You decide to do what you can to assist them. The answer you're given should be longer, but really, that's it Treat people the way you'd want to be treated, observe, and then help.

Can you share details of the purpose of a brand therapist as well as the archetypal approach you use to create your brand?

I've always been interested in the world of psychology and behavioral sciences however, I've never wanted to be a traditional therapist. In the time I took a day off, I read a lot about the psychological bases and ways of being, specifically with regard to making decisions. I began applying these ideas to my branding efforts and the results were absolutely amazing. As someone who believes in individuality I'm interested in creating names for my professional self. "Brand Therapist" seemed like the perfect title.

I created the archetypal course of my brand back in 2010. In the beginning there was no course comparable to it in the marketplace. The archetypes were used to promote brands, but this course was not yet available. It is the idea to take the established scientific principles and apply them to buying behaviour. It is possible to doubt your behavior, but the it is hard to doubt the patterns. Archetypes reveal patterns of behaviour and allow you to adapt your ideas or style and offerings to those who need them most.

When you did your homework, you discovered that the vast majority of creators and creators fell short because they didn't pay attention to branding and focusing on advertising. What steps makers can take to create an authentic image of their brand?

It's impossible to effectively market something if you do not know who you are or what it is that you're selling, who your ideal customers are, or even what it is that you're selling. What I mean is that we're really not selling goods or services. It's selling solutions. We're selling customers a higher quality version of these. Knowing and being able determine the essence of your brand and carry it throughout all you do is crucial to the growth of any business.

Your website provides a variety of free, helpful information to customers who are interested in your services. This includes your brand archetype that is free to testing and research. How have these sources been for your company? And what should creatives do to incorporate freebies into their marketing efforts?

The free quiz has made tremendous influence. It took me some time to learn not only the right questions to ask and how to get the most accurate answers. A million or more took the test throughout the time. The test is still an awe-inspiring experience for me. But it's highly insightful and profound. It's a pleasure to read it. I'm happy to see it has been beneficial to several. It's helped me grow my list of email addresses as well as expand offerings to my ideal clients also.

It is suggested to create giveaways that go with your fashion. Being a teacher, I am a luminary (archetype) educator I love studying and taking my time, and then sharing the wisdom, and to me, the idea of taking a test is logical. It could look similar to some other thing. It might be a design that resembles a black or white file, an ebook or some graphics or other downloadable information. You should ensure that you get any kind of incentive that is most loved, the best is their email address. They can always unsubscribe if they aren't happy with the information.

HTML0As someone with several years of consulting experience What suggestions would you provide to designers who are considering the idea of offering coach services?

Oh I have lots of suggestions on this subject:

  • Don't give your time away for free. A free consultation is a good option to see which is the most appropriate candidate. However, make careful not to divulge much. You should prepare a list of questions you want to ask before you make the phone call. Make sure you stick to the allotted time. Leave them intrigued and wanting to know more.
  • Establish boundaries and follow the rules. Everyone will try to get more. If someone is looking for or wants more, they'll pay for your time. If they're not, they won't respect your time, so you should move on. That's it.
  • It is my intention to be a solely working with clients that you'd like to be working with. You can be a good judge on your own. If you believe that a customer doesn't seem like a great fit at from the very first moment you talk to them, they probably aren't. Don't try to convince them about your charges or attempt to convince people to work together. They'll be delighted working with you and thrilled to trade their cash to exchange their time.

When it comes to branding, what role should social media have and what types of content have been the most successful for you as a writer?

My view of social media serves more as a marketing tool than of branding. Personally, I prefer Pinterest in comparison to other social media platforms. There's less noise and more concentration. This is a chance for individuals to curate and arrange. It's highly intentional. It's an interesting thing to see. Also, it lets me know what else people are saving. This is a distinct feature that are different from Facebook along with Instagram. I suggest going to the platform on which you have the largest following and analyzing the stats of your website's traffic to determine where the visitors come from, then focusing your time and energy in these places.

Which tool has been the most useful in creating and marketing your offerings?

One of the most useful sources is actually a function, not a tool.

Reviews can be very beneficial in the sale of an item. Social proof is extremely important since people would like to know exactly what they're getting before putting their money into the purchase. Hearing genuine feedback from someone different from the seller (the purchaser) is extremely effective.

Additionally, I utilize coupon codes frequently due to various motives. The possibility of customizing codes has been fantastic. The people love it when I make a customized code with their names or business name. It's very enjoyable, and it is professional in it.

I can't get enough of the "Courses" feature anymore. This is my absolute favorite online tool and is a breeze to create and develop courses. I haven't even taken advantage of the numerous features like videos, quizzes or questions and I'm excited to use them. The classes I taught started the last month, and have already had a lot of satisfied students.

What has your company done to market and promote your items online?

I had been selling digital downloads frequently through my website before the GDPR's implementation. Since I am an U.S.-based business, I felt that it was confusing and frustrating and exhausting to try to comprehend the new tax laws, and so I made the decision to stop selling downloads completely. When I learned they took care of all tax-related to VAT for me. I was immediately enthralled. It has allowed me to make thousands of dollars selling digital items without losing sleep over VAT issues.

The company's name is getting more and more recognition as has how much interest it gets. Since their name inspires trust, consumers know they can purchase without fear.
