Selling Audio Samples With Demuvi The Demuvi Audio Store

Mar 31, 2022

The market for digital audio has seen a dramatic increase in the past few time. As consumers, we enjoy having instant access to millions of songs. But how have these changes affected those who create the music? Seasoned producer and seller Demuvi discusses with us the latest tools and possibilities technology has made available to artists today. He also reveals where he finds inspiration for his work.

It's been your job in the world of sound as an engineer, producer and sound design for over 30 years. What was your first step in the world of music start?

I started making music as young teenager using an Commodore 64 and an Amiga computer. Because of the limited resources available I was constantly having to come up with innovative ways to make music sound good. At the time, it was difficult however I did learn a lot about synthesizers and sound design from it.

It was easy for me to put my latest products out to the marketplace. The process of setting up my shop was simple and when I had any issues, I always got direct help from customer support.

The majority of my music-related work is making presets for virtual synthesizers. These help musicians and newbies create their music more easily. I'm also an expert in creating sounds, as you can hear for yourself with my "Popular Sounds" expansions. These are custom-created versions of the sounds of the 80s and 90s, with sounds from the 70s and 2000s in the works.

Where do you take your ideas?

My main interest is the music of the 1980s and 90s. I was curious as to what it would take to recreate the sound of those decades with a software synthesizer as well as create presets that could be played by the keyboard. So you could say that my primary inspiration is from the past.

How has technology affected your creativity?
The software synthesizers have advanced enough that physical synthesizers are hardly ever needed I believe. If anyone still makes use of hardware synths today does it out of joy and nostalgia However, when it comes to audio technology, I envision far more potential in software synthesizers in the near future. This, of course, makes it easy to get imaginative on computers and simplify the process.

What changes in the sound design market have you observed? Has the customer profile or need for products related to it drastically changed?

The marketplace for sound design is massive, as are the number of players. I think I've found a few fans with my reproductions, and I'm happy there's people out there who share my passion for old-fashioned sounds.

It's hard to say what has changed over the last couple of years, except for the technical aspect. Computers are getting stronger and software can create more possibilities. That's the future and it's exactly what I predicted years ago, when computers weren't able to make sounds as they can today. Technology proved me right.

What software have you found to be the most effective in creating digital music and sounds?

I am using Ableton Live Suite 11, Serum, Sylenth1, VPS Avenger, Parawave Rapid and the whole Native Instruments Komplete 13 Collector's Edition. I also make many sound effects from scratch, mainly with Serum as well as VPS Avenger plugins.

How has helped you promote or sell your product and/or services?

This made it simple for me to bring my products to the marketplace. Setting up a shop was easy, and if I had any issues I was always able to get immediate assistance from customer Support.
