Motion Graphics - The CreativeMindClass Blog
What's your story?
"My name is Sylvia Boomer Yang. I am an illustrator, animator and GIF artist who is based in Brooklyn, New York. For my professional work I make animations, motion graphics as well as storyboards to explainers for video series and apps. However, what I truly like to do as a side project is make funny and fun cartoons and stickers that make people smile, and allow them to express themselves."

"I grew up in Taiwan and began attending the fine arts school in my early years. I've always loved drawing, but slowly I got stuck with a traditional educational way of life. I felt like I could not express my personality and voice through the traditional methods in art. Learning about fine art has certainly helped me establish the basis for who I am today."

"I changed into design college in my college, and then moved in New York for grad school. It was then that I began to experiment using animations and digital art. Animation gave me the power to combine animation and motion to tell a story with a lively manner. I really enjoyed exploring how to transform still images into motion."

What's the secret for creating animated images?
"I am a fan of working with a sense of humor plus strong emotions that help people feel connected, playing with different mediums and creating my own unique style of design. Making designs can be a lot of fun!"

"Collaboration/teamwork is one of the keys I evaluate a lot. I enjoy how people generate ideas in the team. I also think that good work typically is built by a group comprised of individuals with different strengths and skill sets.
In daily life, I'm not going to stop making items that inspire me. When not designing, or creating motion graphics, I can find myself making mess in the kitchen (lots in cooking) or making crafts. I love to go to Brooklyn farmers markets , and play on various food items at the kitchen table at. The world is full of amazing things. I am a sucker traveling and exploring new cultures, communities and innovative artwork."
