Skateboarder and community organizer Briana King places their love for their sport and community above all else. Making a living out of the passions of these two has come organically for Briana because, as they explain to "I've been doing everything for passion and enjoyment, not just because it was necessary to be something of any kind."
Find out how Briana makes use of their website and social media channels to remain connected to the skateboarding community on and off the internet.
The creation of community by means of products
For Briana Their website highlights every aspect of their brand in one place: skate meetups, products available for purchase, as well as hyperlinks to their active group of fans on social media.
"It gives me an outlet to show my projects and the future events I plan to attend," Briana states on their website, "but it also motivates me to explore innovative ways to think about ideas."
One of these concepts was the idea of launching their store online, where they sell products related to skateboarding. Briana sees these products as yet another method of connecting with their community--by giving the community "something that makes them smile or make them smile."
Briana is even working with an acquaintance who skateboards to oversee their online business. "I think we should be a part of the community in any possible way. Everything I ever do goes back to my community."
