Five Reasons to Join Our New Slack Community: Global SaaS Leadership •

Mar 23, 2022

The version that is TL;DR of this article is as follows:

  • We have just launched a brand new (free!) Slack community: Global SaaS Leaders.
  • It's open to leaders at established SaaS as well as software firms (including founders! ).

Why we're starting a free Slack community

Because community is awesome!

No, seriously.

Sure, there are some others SaaS and software-based communities there. Some of them are excellent.

However, when we considered making the type of community wouldlike to be a part of, we saw the opportunity to make something brand new.

We came up with Global SaaS Leaders as a space with five unique qualities:

1. Global focus

We found many SaaS and software community that were U.S.-based or that were based around a specific location.

Global SaaS Leaders will be distinct. They may reside in the U.S., but our clients and the broader SaaS community span throughout the world..

When we build the community, we'll be conscious of establishing a broad members and an international perspective.

2. The design is geared towards leaders of established SaaS and software firms

One of the most engaging software-related conversations we could find on the internet were about starting an entirely new SaaS company:

These conversations are beneficial for those looking to begin building a SaaS.

With that said, we discovered that it's quite difficult to find helpful conversations between leaders from well-established software and SaaS firms.

That's why we've decided to create an online community of SaaS entrepreneurs who think about expanding and scaling an established software company instead of building the minimum feasible products or seeking seed funding.

If you're a life-long entrepreneur with a bootstrapped SaaS already doing $10,000 a month, we'd love to assist you in connecting with other entrepreneurs similar to your.

Same if you're the development lead at a venture-backed startup that just crossed $10 million a year.

We will focus on that on the upcoming Global SaaS Leaders: to provide a forum in which you can discuss the challenges unique to your business after you reach product-market fit and start to expand.

3. Professionally moderated

It takes a dedicated and experienced moderator (or team of moderators!) to establish a positive and supportive culture in a community.

There's a lot we've learned from the Reddit community, r/entrepreneur for instance.

Yet even the most reputable communities such as this struggle at times with concentration. The number. top thread in the past year was a combative post about the way that cryptocurrency is consuming the feed:

Katie Stephan and Nathan Collier (authors of this article!) is the initial moderation team when we start our Global SaaS Leaders community.

Collectively, we've spent over a decade moderating online communities with thousands of members.

And the creation and launch of the community is a part of our jobs descriptions.

The conversation will remain focused on SaaS and other software and we'll ensure that you don't need to contend with unwelcome offers, spam Personal attacks, trolling in any form.

4. Not solely focused on venture capital , or funding rounds.

We don't care if you're financially strapped, venture-funded, private equity backed, or any other type of ownership.

World SaaS Leaders won't be a location that focuses on funding rounds or exit strategies.

In addition, we want to establish a forum that you can engage in discussions regarding hiring, revenue, profit, tools price models, technology infrastructure, as well as anything that is related to building the business of software.

It's okay for members to occasionally talk about funding. It shouldn't be the the only discussion.

5. The most helpful SaaS as well as software communities anywhere online

There are some online communities that can be risky areas.

Whoever you are, wherever you're from, and whatever your experience, we'd like you to feel at ease posting and participating in our forum.

Katie and I will do what we can to create and create a supportive, positive culture in this new community. And we'll not stand for personal attacks, bigotry, discrimination based on gender, race, or other unwelcome behavior.

Our aim is not anything less than to create the most supportive SaaS and software community anywhere online.

How to Join the Global SaaS Leaders Community

If you're the leader of an established SaaS firm, we'd love to include you in our group!

We know it's a long request form, but we use the information to assess the overall quality of the community as well as to filter out likely spammers.

Also, there's a FAQ available on the application page that might provide answers to your queries.

We'd like to invite you to join us!
