Fantasy illustration - The CreativeMindClass Blog

How would you describe your personal style?

It's somewhere between stylized as well as realistic fantasy illustration. I rely on a variety of aqua and muted color palettes and generally work with organic, flowing shapes. I believe that my "style" as an illustrator is heavily influenced by my colors and the subject matter I choose to draw but not always the way it is painted. I was previously working in a much more line-oriented approach, however I've been transitioning into a looser and more painterly approach.

What are the most important factors to making your artworks of fantasy?

I'm constantly re-examining them until the image looks closest to the way I see it in my head (within reasons, else I'd devote months to a single painting). I strive to make my designs more complex and not settle for a mediocre image. I'd rather take lots of time trying to get my fantasy illustration right instead of rushing through it.

What are the best places to show your fantasies?

I'll be a part of the coming "Oceans and Currents" exhibit at Gallery Nucleus during July! In the meantime I'm through Instagram. I do sell prints in my online store Bandcamp If anyone is interested!

And I also have a YouTube as well as Bandcamp to those who are interested in my work and I'll release more tracks very shortly.

Her Background

I earned my diploma in The Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, and I currently work in the industry of entertainment arts as conceptual artist and illustrator. Also, I have a ongoing innovative project known as Pearl Farm, for which I create illustrations. I also write as well as perform original songs.

Illustrations for the article are taken drawn from my own work, Pearl Farm. The story is my own, it follows a traveling troubadour known as Vinny along with her pet ray Hubble as they make their way through a vast planet called The Lofty Coastline.
