Colored Pencil Flowers - The CreativeMindClass Blog
If I could pick just one word that represents my style of drawing I would choose 'Spring'.
I would like people to look at my artwork and feel that they're blooming, just like warm spring blooming flowers.

Cottagecore is my lifestyle that I have chosen and believe in. This could be due to the fact that I'm from Seoul the largest city in Korea and I love rural life and natural sceneries much more than what I catch in their sight daily.
So rather than spreading intensity, I express a calm and serene mood that is like what I observe in the natural world.

What's the secret to making your illustrations?
The first thing I'd like is to talk about the things that I find motivation in. My focus is on the joy in small items. Flowers I see in a garden and the gentle whispers of flowers flying in the breeze or even a tiny blossom at the corner of a street I see when walking.
My work is mostly with tiny wildflowers. Nature-inspired landscapes taken from ancient botanical encyclopedias and rural landscapes are also a source of ideas. I have saved a great deal of information through images and frequently take notes on colored pencil art ideas.

Then, let's look at the technique of work. I sketch to the degree of large-scale details as if they were real flowers , and convey my emotions through colors.
I use pointed colored pencils to precisely express the shape of the bloom. Then I create a relaxing warm and cozy atmosphere making use of pastel tones instead of strong hues.

I like also to juxtapose simple and rough paper by using the technique of paper flowers in order to give an impression of blooming flowers.
Rather than simply drawing I feel that making flower designs on paper creates a better atmosphere. It's a more precise translation from my own imagination.
