Could you explain what you do in the first place ?
In the Community Team, we manage the Hero Community and other community -driven initiatives and tools. The mission of our team is to connect our customers around the world and empower our Heroes to be successful entrepreneurs through community programs and resources.
What's an accomplishment in your career you're particularly proud of?
How has your cultural personal identity affected your experience in tech?
It's something I'm trying to learn more about my own self.
Are you a part of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month and if so what does it mean to you?
Not specifically AAPI Heritage Month, but growing up I celebrated and was a part of Korean heritage and cultural events that included festivals as well as other campaigns. I think like many others I've come to recognize just how important these types of occasions and cultural events help us understand our identity and belonging.
Can you describe an event or person from AAPI past that was meaningful for you?
The most meaningful would have to be my parents along with the numerous families of immigrants who retreated themselves to find better opportunities elsewhere. It's fascinating to consider the types of challenges faced by the earlier generations of the AAPI community. In addition, I would like to declare that I'll never forget what an experience Linsanity was...so thank you at Jeremy Lin!
What ways can you get involved in the AAPI Community?
I generally seek community within the areas where I spend the most time. Therefore, in my college years I took part extensively within KSA (the Korean Students Association) as well as at other workplaces I've participated in different AAPI specifically-focused ERGs.
What are you most excited when you work there ?
My favorite part of working with is the people and the teams that I've the privilege of working with. I truly appreciate the welcoming and encouraging atmosphere cultivated, and seeing the enthusiasm that is evident about our products as well as our clients is truly inspiring to work in.
Are there any additional details you'd like to share on the topic with our readers on our blog?
A shameless invitation to our customers to be part of our Hero Community! We'll be working to create the most engaging and enjoyable user experience for our community and we'd love to have our customers there!
